Biography
Mr. Starrett is the founder of PrivacyLabs, a firm specializing in privacy, data protection, and compliance technology. He also has competitive skills in machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud security management, threat detection and programming in Python. Mr. Starrett is also a licensed attorney and served as general counsel and chief global risk officer of an international, publicly held data management corporation leading its global legal operations and risk-management groups. His 25-year career began in law enforcement and corporate security and audit, and later progressed into information security software engineering, electronic discovery, and information management. Mr. Starrett is the founding chair (2013–2020) of the Big Data Committee of the American Bar Association and active in the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and ISACA. He has published nationally in the areas of interviewing, electronic evidence, artificial intelligence (AI), and e-commerce law and technology and has presented extensively on data science (AI), electronic evidence, and data management including at the American Records Management Association, Compliance Week, Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, the International Legal Technology Association, LegalTech (New York), and the High-Tech Criminal Investigations Association.
