Ziad Obermeyer
Biography
Ziad Obermeyer is the Blue Cross of California Distinguished Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management at the University of California, Berkeley. His research and teaching focus on how machine learning can help improve decision making in health and public policy. He has received awards for his work from the National Academy of Medicine, the National Institutes of Health, and academic societies. Dr. Obermeyer has published in a wide range of journals, including Science and The New England Journal of Medicine, and presented his research at computer science conferences such as NeurIPS. Previously, he was an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He continues to practice emergency medicine in underserved communities.
